On the tail end of the Miss Vietnam Washington Calendar Shoot for 2012 and the results have been awesome. The girls are amazing the dresses are nothing short of spectacular, I have also had the pleasure to with work with a really amazing Video Crew. Symbol Pi Videography.
In addition to being a fund raising tool for the non profit organization, the calendar is meant to be a showcase of the Vietnamese Ao Dai. These are traditional formal dresses worn by Vietnamese women for a variety of occasions. The dresses are in most cases super vibrant, form fitting, and very classy.
It was an honor for me to do this project, it's a nice little break from the wedding photography biz and a way to really touch base with my roots. My idea immediately was to feature the dresses and the girls in recognizable areas of the Pacific Northwest: Discovery Park, Seattle Piers, UW, and Volunteer Park Conservatory.
The statement?? "I'm a Vietnamese American Woman! I'm sexy, classy, smart, and confident. GRRR!"
